hmmmm... i pre-ordered at EB, and put down some money, maybe i should try to price match or maybe i should goto futureshop, cancel my pre-order at EB and get the shirt??? ahh i dunnoo...

39.99$ + T-shirt is sure great, however I am not sure if Futureshop will sell Guild Wars on 28th; you should not forget Pre-order folk get the game before everyone else. Even if you camp near the store at night, you might still have to wait a few days untill Future Shop/Best Buy Canada (same thing) will serve all of the pre-ordering customers.

in Quebec the $10 discount is only a "mail-in rebates discount"(not sure if it's how you call it).

90% of futureshop's discount are like this an i never got the money back from such discount.
Only the t-shirt could make me change my mind and buy it there.. But they might get out of stock by the time i reach the nearest futureshop from where i live.

I went to futureshop today and they were selling pre-order package for $9.99.. I'm sure they don't even tell people that it is only the pre-order and they would have to come back to get the real game later. Good thing it's writen on the box that the full version is not included..

..There was also a young boy begging his mother to buy WoW.. me and my brother laughed.

The CE is costing me $10 less from EB than it would have from Futureshop and I've already pre-ordered. Although I have to say it's a pretty sweet deal for us Canadians. Hopefully there are some people who will take advantage of this.

well. i was told that everytime someone bought the pre-order package @ futureshop (instore), they will save a copy for each receipt. so i think they would have accounted for the number of pre-orders + for their instock/instore number for the 28th's full release. but again. on the 28th (or like most full game release dates, "you snooze, you might lose." hehe.)

if you dont care about the t-shirt. order online @ futureshop.ca cuz it says the deal of 39.99 online ends @ may.1.05. no hassle. no fuss. + ofcourse, the convenient free shipping.

for me. i was told to pick it up on the 26th....sigh..one more looong day...and sigh....another loong day b4 early access. this is just sooo funny.

I checked yesterday and while FS is selling the regular edition at 39.99 on April the 28th (Only) the CE edition is still 99.99. They also suggested I show up early if I wanted to get the T-shirt. Guess where I'll be Thursday Morning!

That's how they use their partnership. They create a false sense of competition between the two companies. Sometimes BB has the best deal while sometimes FS has the edge. Of course they don't advertise their partnership to the general public openly (guess why ?)

I got a question for anyone who pre-ordered from futureshop, like I did. What do you bring to the store when you are going to pick up your reserved copy? I have my box, receipt, and beta weekend pass, which do I bring for verification? When i bought the package, they sayed nothing about what I should do come release day, they just handed me the box after I payed

Just a word of advice.

Pre ordered and reserved are not the same thing at least not at Futureshop.

Futureshop is a joke when it comes to keeping careful track of their stock on release day of new PC games. As far as I can tell a preorder at FS is not a guarantee of the game on the 28th ...

Arrive early or you will be VERY dissapointed.

Oh Yah! Make sure to bring your receipt. They don't care about the box or key but the receipt is your proof that you really did order there.

just a lil tale of what happened to me, while picking up my CE version @ futureshop.

I drove to a farther branch FS, since i got my pre-order package there. just around noon after.
I go in store.
I ask fs rep about GW pre-ordered full game.
He checks the shelves. ofcourse wasnt there.
I tell him I was told to pick up my pre-order full today. (26th)
He tells me, he has seen the CE version somewhere instore, he'll check @ the back.
I wait about 5+ mins only, he brings out a cart of boxes.
1 box is i think just "freshly opened" CE versions, while another opened one is full of standard versions. (rest sealed boxes)
he shows me CE, then a standard one showing the ranger lady box cover, i didnt check for other profession covers.
I stare at a CE and a standard for a few secs.
I decide to get the CE. I think it might have been whispering "take me". hehe
then when i was about to go out of store, the guy who assisted me, tossed me a GW t-shirt. what a bonehead i am that i forget about it...

so the conclusion of the story is, I took a giant leap of faith, (the FS rep that told me to pick it up today technically told the truth.)

, and I didnt waste my time or gas, trying to persuade FS ppl what GW was, like some Best Buy ppl who i spoke to b4.
